(it is also known as Modalert / Provigil / Alertec /
Modapro). Modafinil is a mind and mood enhancing stimulant that is not addictive, has no side effects and does not affect sleep habit after you stop taking it.
Modafinil is an eugeroic drug (which simply means "good arousal").
This unique class of drug contains only five at present -
Modafinil, Provigil, Modapro, Modalert and Alertec. Modafinil is a memory-improving and mood-brightening
psycho stimulant. It enhances wakefulness and vigilance, but its pharmacological profile is notably different from Amphetamine, Ritalin or Cocaine.

The manufacturer goes to great lengths to say that modafinil is not like amphetamine. However, the truth is that it is simply a new, slightly milder stimulant with few significant benefits. The manufacturer is waging a worldwide campaign to portray modafinil as great for everyone, allowing everyone to sleep less and to be more productive.
The authors claim modafinil makes it possible to have 48 hours of continuous wakefulness with few, if any, ill effects.
Authors call modafinil a new "lifestyle drug" and claim that hardly anyone has a bad word about modafinil.
Modafinil is being pushed for children for ADHD, and for anything that makes you fatigued or tired in adults.
Modafinil is just another stimulant, only one that is a little more mild, and slightly different from methylphenidate or amphetamine.
"It's time for a revolution" says cofounder of a
well-known corporation. He should know - he's the scientist whose research on sleep helped lay the groundwork for modafinil. "The drugs will do for sleep disorders what Prozac did for
depression"
Modafinil (Generic Provigil®, Alertec®, Modalert®) is an analeptic drug and is approved by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for the treatment of narcolepsy, shift work sleep disorder, and excessive daytime sleepiness associated with obstructive sleep apnea.
Modafinil is a central nervous system (CNS) stimulant. It is primarily used to promote wakefulness and alertness in persons with narcolepsy, a condition that causes excessive sleepiness and cataplexy (episodes of sudden loss of muscle control).
Modafinil is an improvement over amphetamine in the treatment of narcolepsy. It promotes wakefulness, but has less pronounced side effects than amphetamine. Modafinil acts to combat excessive daytime sleepiness (EDS) and cataplexy, the leading symptoms of narcolepsy, by stimulating sleep-suppressing peptides (orexins) in the brain.
Although primarily indicated for the treatment of narcolepsy, modafinil is also used to treat some forms of sleep apnea. Experimentally, modafinil is being evaluated in the treatment of Alzheimer's disease, depression, attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and fatigue associated with multiple sclerosis.
Modafinil is taken by mouth in tablet form. It is prescribed by physicians in varying dosages, and is usually taken once a day, in the morning.
Compared to ritalin, which I was taking before this pharmaceutical, this made a much more attentive and natural aroused feeling. Unfortunately for me it furthermore made me virtually psychotic and in a instant of thoughtfulness I considered this should be how persons seem when they converse about "snapping". I could not command my emotions. I went back to my medical practitioner and punctually swapped off the medication. Too awful the side effects were over the peak as the alertness was amazing. I took the pharmaceutical for less than 2 weeks.
As for it's stimulation-strength, I'd put it as somewhere in the middle -
stronger than coffee, weaker than amphetamine.
Personally I only take 50 mg of modafinil in the morning and sometimes another 50 mg at lunch (sometimes not). I have found that low doses are the key at least for me. The studies show this as well. Basically with young healthy intelligent subjects large dosages actually had a negative effect (this is often the case with many nootropics).
Couldn't agree more on low doses of Modafinil.
I took a 100mg tablet of Modafinil and cut it into 4 pieces and took 25mg four times today, every four hours. And had a great and productive day - with no side effects.
You simply cannot beat the concentration that Adderall gives compared to these other medications. Amphetamine have been used for years and nothing will give you the concentration you will get in adderall. Don't buy into modafinil, it is very weak compared to Adderall.
It's strength is more than adequate for me (energy, motivation, concentration, ability to get a ton done) and (here is the beauty of it) with no side effects. At low doses I experience no side effects. Sometimes, less is more, and Modafinil may just enhance one's system (in a specific, gentle, smooth, yet powerful way) and not overwhelm it. If it can do that, it indeed is the ideal stimulant.
We all want to be stimulated to get more done and have no side effects, long-term safety issues. After all, if we were just interested in stimulant strength and didn't care about side-effects or effects of long-term use, then we'd all be taking cocaine and getting a
shit load done.

| Should you use modafinil? Should you buy Modafinil online?
It is your pick, and if you chose to do
it, please keep in mind that not only it is illegal to use and buy Modafinil without a prescription, but it can also be dangerous. Just because Modafinil is a prescription medication does not mean it is safe for everyone. Many people should not take Modafinil for various medical reasons, and the drug should always be used under
supervision of a health care provider. |
